Mailing List & Email Signup Block

Capture leads right from your Kosmc page. Choose a layout, pick which details to collect, and send every signup to KOSMC, Mailchimp, Zapier, or Substack.

The Email Signup block is your lead-capture form on Kosmc. It lets visitors join your list right from your page, and it's the most configurable block in the editor — you choose th

e layout, decide which details to collect, and pick where every signup is sent.

This article walks through the layouts, the fields you can collect, the settings, and where your responses go.

What the Email Signup block does

It adds a signup form to your page. When someone fills it in and submits, their details are captured and routed to the destination you choose — your native KOSMC list, Mailchimp, Zapier, or Substack. It's how you turn page visitors into an audience you actually own, instead of relying on platform follows.

Choose a style: Compact or Card

The block comes in two style variants. Pick the one that fits how much you want to ask for.

  • Compact (Single Field): A minimal email bar. One field, one button. Best when you only want an email and don't want to slow people down.
  • Card (Multiple Fields): A full form card. Use this when you want a title, description, and several fields collected at once.

Decide which fields to collect

You can toggle each field on or off depending on what you need:

  • Name — with options for Full name, Last name, or First + Last as separate fields
  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Location
  • Birthday

A simple rule: every extra field you ask for lowers the number of people who finish. Collect only what you'll actually use.

Card settings

If you're using the Card variant, you get extra controls to shape the form:

  • Card Layout — two layout options to choose from
  • Title text — the heading on the card
  • Description text — a short line explaining why to sign up
  • Submit button text — e.g. "Join," "Subscribe," "Count me in"
  • Success message text — what people see after they submit

Post-signup options

Two toggles control what happens around the form:

  • "Join KOSMC Community" prompt — turn this on to show a prompt after signup.
  • Custom T&C / disclaimer link — turn this on to add your own terms or disclaimer link to the form.

Where your signups go (response destinations)

Every submission is routed to a destination you pick. There are four:

  1. KOSMC — the native CRM. Signups land in your Kosmc list automatically, no setup needed.
  2. Mailchimp — send new contacts straight into your Mailchimp audience.
  3. Zapier — pipe signups into thousands of other tools through a Zap.
  4. Substack — grow your Substack list directly from your page.

How to add the Email Signup block

Step 1 — Open your page editor. Go to your Kosmc dashboard and open the page you want to edit.

Step 2 — Add the block. Click Add Features and select the Mailing List / Email Signup block.

Step 3 — Pick your style. Choose Compact for a single email bar or Card for a full form.

Step 4 — Toggle your fields. Turn on the fields you want to collect (Name, Email, Phone, Location, Birthday) and set your Name format if you're collecting names.

Step 5 — Set your text (Card only). Add your title, description, submit button text, and success message.

Step 6 — Set post-signup options. Decide whether to show the community prompt and whether to add a T&C/disclaimer link.

Step 7 — Choose your destination. Select where signups should go: KOSMC, Mailchimp, Zapier, or Substack.

Step 8 — Position and save. Drag the block into place on your page and save.

Good to know

A few things the block doesn't do today, so you can plan around them:

  • Fields are the set listed above — there aren't custom field types like dropdowns or checkboxes yet.
  • There's no conditional logic (fields don't change based on a previous answer).
  • Terms are handled through the T&C / disclaimer link toggle; there isn't a separate standalone consent checkbox.
  • You can't tag or segment contacts at the moment of capture — do that in your destination tool (e.g. Mailchimp or KOSMC) after signup.

Troubleshooting

My signups aren't appearing in Mailchimp / Substack. Double-check the response destination is set correctly and that the integration is connected. If you just connected it, allow a moment to sync.

People are dropping off before submitting. You may be asking for too much. Try the Compact variant or turn off non-essential fields.

I can't find the title and description settings. Those are Card-only. Switch from Compact to the Card variant to see them.

Quick recap

The Email Signup block captures leads on your Kosmc page. Choose Compact or Card, toggle the fields you want (Name, Email, Phone, Location, Birthday), set your text and post-signup options, then route every signup to KOSMC, Mailchimp, Zapier, or Substack. Ask for less, send it where you'll use it, and start building a list that's yours.
